How positive thoughts save your day

When I bought shooting glasses few months ago, I learned something accidentally. Something that actually common sense but will affect greatly at your shooting.  After The Competition ended, I decided to bought a shooting glasses with my prize money. I bought Knobloch K-1P but I changed the lens holder with rifle holder. So I asked The shop’s owner to demonstrated how to changed it. Seriously, that is the first time I owned something with my own money, I really don’t want to messed it up. When the shop's owner opened one screw, that screw which is very small, she dropped it. I thought it is impossible to found a screw THAT small in shooting range. It could be anywhere. Lot of  people came to help, yet it's not been found yet. Wew, I felt like giving up already but the shop's owner, who also a shooter, said a shooter should always think positively through any situation and somehow we found it with help of a flashlight. Imagine if that happen in a match situation. Doesn’t have to lose a screw but to keep positive thought evens in situation that you consider as imposible. If thinking positively could find a really small screw in wide area, I don’t see any objection why positive thoughts couldn't help you improve your performance. Hope this help!

I challenge you! Score Ring Minus 0.5

This game was actually my father idea because  we kept arguing that a shot hole supposed to be 8 or 9. So he said that any shot that below 50% touch the ring is considered as lucky shot. Sound kinda harsh, but this really help.

 Here are the rules:

   1. Every shot that below x.5 is counted 1 score lower

       ex.8.2 = 7

            9.0 = 8

           10.4 = 9 <<<< this is the annoying part

   2. If you can’t make sure where the shot land (maybe x.5 or below/above), its counted as 1 score below because the shot is considered as lucky shot (okay, that’s hurt)

   3).Be Honest! Nobody gonna mad at you even you are really bad at this game. This game is about mentality anyway.

Sounds annoying, right? (Yeah, I agree) but think about it, if you could get better score with these rules, what happen without it? Of course better score (if you didn’t put same level concentration and focus, it’s not gonna happen)

The goal of this game is to teach you not to get satisfied by shots below x.5. Because It didn’t have guarantee that it will also happen at the match. And also proof that if you didn’t consider a shot below x.5 is good shot, which makes you try extra hard for better shot release technique. In other words, push you to your limit. The score in this game doesn’t matter, the point is whether you can or not handle the pressure. That means you win :D

And if you get used to it, your score wouldn’t be much differ with or without these rules. Maybe better… That prove if you FOCUS on it, you will OVERCOME it.After you try, please telling me what happen, I would be pleased to know.Care to try?

Cylinder below limit? what will happen?

You know, I used to hear from few shooters when their shot gets lower or fly, they said that their cylinder is near empty. To tell you the truth, I used believe that too. The needle shows at the lowest green part. And finally, I decided to ask feinwerkbau about it and they answer...

"Concerning the cylinders please be informed that the pistol works generally with a working pressure of 80 bar i.e. it does not matter if there will be a pressure of 200 bar inside the cylinder or only 100 bar -this will have no influence to the velocity as the pistol itself works generally with a pressure of 80 bar."

I should use edelmann for cleaner result, This is the only one available in my city right now and forgive the 8, it's completely my fault. And the conclusion is, it didn't really affect accuracy. I did feel reduced velocity though. But please note that I DID NOT recommend to have a match with nearly like above image. I cannot say that other gun can do the same thing since I haven't test it. It would be better if anyone try it too. Besides it's about the man behind the gun. Still think that your cylinder is the cause of your flyers? :D

Targetshooter on Android

Did you have score sheet or notebooks to record your progress in target shooting? Ever think transform it into an app? Sounds cool to me... I found an Android app like that >>> Targetshooter if  you want download >>> Targetshooter on Appbrain There's two version : lite and full  Lite : limited to 5 shots only  Full : 10 shots per series    Review      I'm using Picopad, and it runs well there. I couldn't find it on android market from my X10 mini, maybe because of screen resolution. Here some short tutorial (image coming soon) or you can find tutorial at http://www.target-shooter.com/index_en.html    SHOOTER    You can add shooter's profile right here and you can add more than one shooter. So this app is very useful for an individual shooter and coaches to keep progress of their athletes.  Just press menu and create new shooter, then fill the form.      RESULT    Here come the tricky part, you hav to be patient when chosing tendency detail ot tendency score. Press menu and choose add new result. Fill the form. If you want to record your shots press image that looks like shooting target. The choice is :       1) You can choose one of images shown up. Choose one that similar to your shots tendency, but you can't    change the hole position and also you have to fill the count form.       2) Tendency Detail for record your shots without showing your score. you have to fill the count form on your own       3) Tendency Score for recording your shots with score. Perfect for scoring.    STATISTICS    I hoped it will show graphics but it's only show average per series. I think its to find your weakest series or simething like that.    I advise go with full version its worth it. I'll give 4.5 stars for it. If they improve statistics it would be great. Just suggestion if there is final menu (menu for final practice including final command and time limit counter *75 second*) this app would be perfect.

But there's no library or books that explain what is the purpose? Why it was first invented? What is the basic principle behind it? Can anyone use it? And tons of questions like that. Because I believe there is no right or wrong when we talk about shooting style. If you believe its right, then its RIGHT! I just started pistol shooting April 2010, but I already fell in love with it and want to learn it more.
